If you’re a jeweler and you’re not a photographer, you’re probably a bit confused about what you should be photographing.
The answer, according to new research from the Radcliffe jeweler’s department, is a little bit of both.
“Photography is a good medium for exploring the history of jewelry, as it reveals the way jewelry has evolved over time and the way it can be made,” said Dr. Michael Lacey, an assistant professor of psychology at Radcliffe, in a press release.
But if you’re just starting out, Lacey said, photography can be a little confusing because the process involves taking pictures and recording the images.
He suggested you take your time, which is great, but if you don’t, the process could take years to master.
That’s why he wanted to create an app to help people learn how to take pictures of their own jewelry, so they could then capture it in a way that would be easier for them to share with their friends.
If you want to learn more about photography and what you can do to improve your photography skills, Radcliffe recommends taking an introductory photography class at Radford.
There’s also an app called the Radford Jewelry Photography Essentials, which offers tips on how to capture beautiful images and share them with the world.
