Sydney FC are set to host a special A-league match against Wellington Phoenix next weekend.

The match is set to be a clash of clubs who were once linked with the A-Liga outfit, as the two teams meet in the last 16 of the AFF Cup, after the Auld Alliance were relegated to the lower division.

The A-liga has been a fixture in the Sydney Football League for the last decade, but this will be the first time they will clash.

After the game will be broadcast on Fox Sports and Fox Sports 2, with Sky Sports and Sky Sports 3 also being available.

Sydney FC had an unimpressive pre-season, but have now won the league by beating fellow bottom-of-the-table side Canberra FC in their first match since being promoted to the top flight.

The win over Canberra has the team leading the league with 15 points, while Wellington Phoenix have just three.

The hosts, however, are unbeaten in the first 10 matches of the season, while the Phoenix have lost five of their last six.
